About the Author
Norman Epstein is a retired Los Angeles Radio Executive: XTRA/KOST GM, KZLA/KLAC VP GM, KMPC GSM, and principal of four PSA FM Radio Stations in CA. He attended UCLA and received a BS in commerce from USC.
Norm created Marketron, a computer software company for Radio and TV. He also created the first AM/FM combo for sales, CHICKISMS and the cartoons for Chick Hearn and the LA LAKERS, and game apps for mobile devices.
Norm has a patent and copyrights in several fields, including the BOMP, a whimsical toy used to relieve frustrations. He also co-sponsored Country Fest with KZLA/KLAC and the city of LA, which was the largest outdoor country music festival (300,000 est) in West Coast history.
Norm lives in Woodland Hills with his wife Sandra. He has two children (Mark and Lisa), two grandchildren (Landon and Lauren), and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn. His hobbies include golf, watercolor, reading, writing, and gin rummy.
Norm is a past president and founder of TRM (Travel Related Marketing), a leader in marketing travel destinations on TV and Cable. Clients have included HVCB (Hawaii), Los Angeles, Quebec, Montreal, Hong Kong, Arizona and Utah to name a few.
Norm is a past chairman of the board of SCBA (Southern California Broadcasters) and has been on several boards, including CMA (County Music Association), VARIETY children’s charity, and VNA (Visiting Nurses). He was also committee head for the 1984 US Olympics in LA and REBUILD LA.
