Media Bias
We all have some form of bias in the sense that we favor one thing or person over another.
When it comes to the Media, their bias seems blatant at times. It’s one thing to be for a candidate but another thing to lie or cheat for their preference. Recently CBS in their respected and long-running 60 minutes show, appeared to have edited a portion of VP Harris’s answer to a question with something she said later to another question. Somebody deliberately tried to make her look better. Would you call this a fair and honest reporting of the News? Of course not, but will there be any consequences?
The old Radio show’s, Jack Webb on Dragnet, used to say, JUST THE FACTS MAAM. Well, that’s what we want today, just the facts. We will make our own judgments.
When it comes to politics the Media is mostly skewed to their preference disavowing just the facts. When did it all change?
My thinking is that as competition grew between new and expanded media, trying to get higher ratings took precedence over factual reporting. It got down to more self-serving ambitions and got separated between Liberal and Conservative.
Both candidates lie, but one candidate you know already having had a successful 4-year term and the other candidate you know but really don’t know due to hiding from the Press and flip-flopping on most issues.
