Advertising Spokespeople
While watching much of Los Angeles burn, it's interesting to note that State Farm is advertising during the football game today, Bills vs Broncos.
State Farm “Like a Good Neighbor” canceled my home insurance and some 60% of its policyholders and they are advertising with Kansas City’s QB, Mahomes, etc. I think they should explain why they are canceling so many policies even those without fire claims.
I see so many others like Liberty and Limu Emu, Geico with the Gecko lizard promoting heavily too. They all have the cleverest commercials like The General and Shaq. AFLAC with Coach Prime and Coach Saban, Progressive with Flo, Allstate with Mayhem, and Farmers with J.K. Simmons.
Traditionally, spokespersons whether real or animated have been used forever in advertising. It’s just frustrating to see your policy canceled and your insurance company still promoting it. The intention is to humanize the company but in reality, they are businesses like others who are interested in making a profit first.
As an option, instead of leaving you without insurance, maybe they could reduce coverage to 85% or 75%. This would give you a choice to stay and or have time to get other coverage.
It might be entertaining watching insurance commercials but it is no fun having them cancel you.
