Don’t bite the hand that feeds you
There is an old adage that you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
President Zelenskyy seemed to do that during his open negotiations with President Trump.
It is ironic that so often the borrower feels animosity toward the lender who has helped him/her in their plight. With the hundreds of billions of dollars and equipment that the US has given to Ukraine to fight the aggression of Russia, surely offering a separate agreement to mine rare earth minerals would show an appreciative thank you.
Zelenskyy didn’t want a Peace agreement without security guarantees because he said Putin broke previous agreements. I think that with a new and stronger President Trump in power, Putin would be more inclined to keep the Peace, and the agreement would have at least stopped the fighting until a lasting agreement is reached.
Zelenskyy didn’t apologize when interviewed by Fox News host Bret Baer.
It was almost like Zelenskyy wanted to have his cake and eat it too.
