Outside in

I think that for many of us, we form impressions on how things or people look rather than what’s inside. If you don’t take the time to see what’s inside, you will miss out on what many things and people are like.

Have you ever seen how an ordinary-looking rock is cracked open to reveal incredible beauty…like a geode or a crystal prism?

What about the many foods you eat…the food is inside the rind, like bananas, oranges, lemons, etc. How about an oyster with a pearl inside or a clam? It’s what’s inside.

Like many policies and actions of government, what’s inside the bills? Many bills have over one thousand pages and are impossible to review in time. The Inflation Reduction Act sounds nice but what’s inside?

There needs to be more understandable bills and laws in which everyone can see.

The old adage of “Don’t judge a book by its cover” can go a long way to more transparency in government.

Take the recent exposure of USAID. It sounds like aid that the US is giving but when looked at inside you will see the ridiculous amounts of spending and waste of American tax dollars to foreign countries for what and why, I don’t know.

RFK Jr. has exposed areas in the food industry like red dye. Outwardly it made food items look good but if you read what’s inside and found out that there was a cancer-causing ingredient, would you still want to buy that product?

Outside In could be the same as being more transparent in our government and our products so we could all see what’s going on.
